For 25 years, Dassenberg has been built on a single, unwavering foundation: a dream that every animal deserves dignity and every child deserves hope. As we look back on a quarter-century of rescues, we aren’t just celebrating the past; we are looking toward the horizon.

Every dog that comes through our doors brings a unique story, but the journey of Aloe, our beautiful German Shepherd, truly exemplifies the resilience we fight for and the love we rely on.

Confronted by the realities of poverty Cheresa Bognar Dassenberg Rescue Centre started out in 2000 in response to the desperate situation of horses in the Atlantis area. In our work we are often confronted by the reality of poverty and what this means for communities and their animals.

I’d personally like to welcome Cheresa to our team, your appointment has taken a huge weight off my shoulders and I have already so enjoyed working with you!
