Dassenberg Newsletter September 2023

Thank you

Dassenberg Rescue would not be here today if it weren’t for your kindness and generosity.

A special mention goes to our partners, RCL Foods, Gabrielle Faickney Charitable Trust and The Do More Foundation.  We rely on the monthly donations of Bobtail which they deliver to us each month.  Thank you!

Our Vintage Sale was a huge success

Thanks to everyone who turned up to support our Vintage Sale.  We so appreciate your support.

Thanks for visiting, do come again!

We are always excited to see new faces at the farm, but even more excited to see them return.  Recently our horses enjoyed some pampering from The Rotse, a youth group.  The group have volunteered at Dassenberg a few times now and we hope to see them again soon.
Just like us, our animals love to be around young people.  It is so lovely that Maties PAW has taken to us, we can think of a few fury friends who are eagerly awaiting their next visit!  Thanks for choosing us!
Dassenberg Rescue has a vibrant and fun team of regular volunteers who help care for our animals and prepare them for adoption.  If you’d like to hang out with like-minded people and enjoy being around animals please fill out our volunteer form on our website.

Welcome to our new team members!

Our team is simply blown away by the impact Justine has had since she started as Yard Manager 5 months ago.  Our adoption rate has skyrocketed!

“I believe that each horse deserves their own human to love them, even those that can’t be ridden!”

Justine got her first horse when she was 5 years old.  She’s been hooked on horses ever since and has explored many aspects of horsemanship.  She started and ran her own riding school for many years.  More recently she got into horse reiki, kinesiology and quantum touch.  You can see why she has fitted in so easily.

One of our objectives is to employ local and also to attempt to upskill and empower those that we engage with.  Our team is so pleased to have Wayne on board as Kennel Manager.  Wayne grew up on a farm not too far from Dassenberg Rescue and our Founder, Mayanna has known him since he was young.

Wayne is great fun to have around and has approached running our kennels in a very mature and professional way.  He is an absolute asset to the team and his obvious affinity for our rescue dogs is wonderful to see.

Dalene joined the Dassenberg Team the beginning of September. Her knowledge, networking skills and 20+ years’ experience in the Non-Profit Sector will bring new partnerships, collaboration and opportunities to help us build a stronger and more sustainable centre.

Our Partners

We would not have made it through this period with out the on-going support of our sponsors.  Thank you RCL Foods, The Do More Foundation and The Gabrielle Faickney Charitable Trust for joining our mission ‘With Heart And Soul For Children And Animals’.
