Our Approach to Adoptions

At Dassenberg we pride ourselves in doing things differently and with our re-homing process, it’s no different. We work on a comprehensive checklist that covers a broad spectrum of questions of the potential new owner and surroundings. With these systems in place, we are confident in ensuring successful adoptions at our rescue centre.

Our focus on rehabilitation, training and Natural Horsemanship techniques, sets us apart when preparing horses & dogs for adoption.  We take the time to learn about the animal, identify behavioural problems, various personalities and most importantly we work together with them to try and heal damaged souls.

Volunteers play a crucial role and without them where would we be? In some unique cases, our volunteers take dogs into their own homes to ensure that they are properly house trained before they are ready to be re-homed.

All this in an effort to ensure each adoption will convert into a happily ever after. We hope that you can help us by playing a part in our successful re-homing stories.

Success Story

We would like to say a simple and honest thank you to all those ANIMAL LOVERS that made this Stock/Frock Exchange Fundraising Event possible, by donating so many beautiful clothes and desirable Items. We were absolutely overwhelmed by your generosity

By supporting our event you made it possible that we could raise R59 170

We are also grateful to those who were unable to attend but that made EFT donations.  This will enable us to do what we do best:

rescue, rehabilitate and re-home neglected Horses and Dogs

A heartfelt thank you.
